Brain Food should be seen as food for the brain. Just like athletes eat certain types of food for their muscles, there is also food for the brain: Brain Food. When you get enough brain food, your brain can function in a healthy way. When you miss certain brain foods, you can experience all kinds of complaints: less concentration, a less good memory or other complaints.

Types of Brain Foods

There are different types of brain foods, all with different properties. For example, there are vitamins, minerals and fats that are labeled as brain food. We start with the most well-known brain food:

Omega-3 fatty acids

Fats are extremely important for brain development. The brain consists of approximately 60% fats. However, a huge number of people have a deficiency of one specific group of fats: the omega-3 fatty acids from fish (DHA and EPA). There are different types of omega-3 fatty acids: ALA, EPA and DHA.

Magnesium

Magnesium is involved in a huge number of processes in the body, including many different brain functions. Think of learning performance, memory, mood and concentration. Magnesium is therefore very important for the proper functioning of the brain.
